Girl: I declined my vote this past election
Boy: Oh so you didnt vote?
Girl: No, I went to the elections off and told them: I decline my vote!

  1. same as not voting

  2. naw, not voting means you don't care. Declining your vote means you don't like any of the candidates and think they are all tools. There is a difference.

  3. But you get the same result. Vote for a fringe party you like, and they might get some more attention.

  4. @1 & 3: On a test, if you choose e) None of the above, is it the same as not answering at all?

If everyone who currently doesn't bother to vote instead went and declined their vote, it would be an amazing display - not apathy but protest.

If you don't support any of the fringe parties, why would you want to give them more attention?

  5. You're telling the government, "I don't like any of the candidates", instead of just "Meh, I couldn't be bothered to go and vote"

  6. You're not telling anyone anything. What you are protesting against isn't an evil entity with feelings, but a group of people with their own interests, who don't really care about your protest. From the party that relies on rhetoric: "What? All of the most enlightened voters decided to submit empty ballots? Fuck yeah."

Educate yourself and vote for the best party at minimum. If you care about politics then try to get active.
